Coffee Brownies
Are you looking for a way to make your brownies the talk of the town? Well, look no further. By adding coffee to your brownie mix, you can take your traditional chocolatey treats to the next level with a bold and flavorful twist. Let’s explore how to make the perfect coffee brownies.

As we all know, coffee and chocolate just go together and these Coffee Brownies are no exception! I'm a coffee-aholic so this is one of my favorite ways to make brownies. And the fact that they're super simple doesn't hurt, either!
Can I add coffee to my brownie mix?
Yes! Adding coffee is an easy way to enhance the flavor of your favorite brownie recipe. In fact, adding espresso powder or instant coffee granules will intensify the chocolate flavor in your brownies and give them a richer taste. Not only does it add flavor, but it also helps create a more chewy texture
How much coffee should I add to my brownie mix?
This recipe can also be adjusted to personal taste. The coffee flavor comes from replacing the water called for in the brownie box mix with cold brewed coffee and some instant coffee. If you love a strong coffee flavor then go ahead and add more instant coffee (I'd say 2-3 tablespoons at most) and if you like just a hint of coffee flavor then stick with the recipe as written. The addition of the chocolate chips is optional as well. I like them because who doesn't like more chocolate??? And it also helps enhance the coffee flavor but they are definitely not necessary in this recipe.
What is the secret to chewy brownies?
Chewy, fudgy brownies are one of life's greatest pleasures—but they can be tricky to master! The key is all in the timing: overbaked or underbaked brownies will be dry and crumbly instead of soft and chewy. So make sure you follow baking instructions carefully and keep an eye on the timer! Additionally, adding an extra egg yolk or two can help ensure that your finished product will have that signature chewiness.
My favorite way to indulge in these fudgy brownies is while they're still warm from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! SO GOOD! They're not bad with a cup of coffee in the morning for breakfast, either (don't ask me how I know that!).
What are the three types of brownies?
There are three main types of traditional homemade style brownies: cakey, fudgy, and chewy! Cakey brownies are light and fluffy with a cake-like texture; fudgy ones have a dense texture with minimal air pockets; and chewy ones have just enough moisture for optimal chewiness without being overly dense or crumbly. With our tips above, you’ll be well on your way towards mastering all three types with ease—and don’t forget about adding that delicious hint of coffee too!
I have made these brownies for many occasions and I've always come home with an empty pan and lots of requests for more! The only negative about these brownies is that I can't stop eating them!

Coffee-infused brownies are an easy way to take your classic dessert recipes up a notch while still maintaining that signature chocolatey goodness we all know and love. Whether you opt for subtle hints of espresso or intense mocha flavors, just remember that when it comes down to it—the key is all in the timing (and maybe just a bit in the quality control). Now grab some eggs—it’s time for baking!
