Easy Peppermint Pretzel Bites
These delicious peppermint pretzel bites are perfect for a last-minute homemade gift idea, or just snacking! With only three ingredients you can whip these up in less than 15 minutes.
Easy Peppermint Pretzel Bites Using Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark
I've seen different versions of these peppermint pretzel bites all over the internet, but none of them had the option to use quality ingredients. I wanted something different, so I came up with Peppermint Bark Squares. The Peppermint Bark has a layer of milk chocolate on the bottom, so you get the best of both worlds! I absolutely love the combination of peppermint and milk chocolate mixed together. It's one of my favorite treats.
Perfect for Snacking
First of all, I love that these Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares come in individual packaging. That way I can use any that I have leftover to set out in a bowl for last-minute family members who might stop by.
I can also use them as last-minute stocking stuffers for the kiddos. I love Ghirardelli because it is high-quality chocolate and it's so delicious that it Makes the Holidays a Bite Better.
(Ha, you saw what I did there?)
Easy Recipe
For this recipe, I used crunchy pretzel squares as I thought they would be perfect for a sweet and salty flavor for this recipe.
Honestly, this part is up to you. Keep in mind that the Peppermint Bark will melt just slightly, so the small square pretzels with very small gaps are ideal.
I love to use parchment paper when baking. It helps keep my food from sticking to my cookie sheets and helps with easy cleanup. I preheated my oven to 275 degrees and then laid out my pretzel bites on the cookie sheet..
Using a small cutting board, I then unwrapped each Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Square and cut it into fourths.
If you have kids helping in the kitchen, this part of the recipe is fun for them!
Just lay each cut square on top of the square pretzels and then pop them in the oven for about 8 minutes. You don't want your Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares to completely melt, you just want to heat them enough so they stick to the pretzel. That way you don't lose any of that beautiful color.
I might mention, that although this is a VERY easy recipe, it's also one you don't want to walk off and let cook forever. Stay nearby and make sure they are out of the oven around the 8-minute mark.
Ideas for Baking During the Holidays
My daughter and I do an annual baking day together and we will definitely be whipping a batch of these up! That's if we can keep ourselves from eating the Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Squares before adding them to this easy recipe.
