Tic Tac Toe Valentines Cookies

Valentines Tic Tac Toe Cookies-4

These cute Tic Tac Toe Valentines Cookies can be made into cookie kits or served at Classroom parties!

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour (more can be needed if dough is too soft)
  • for Royal Icing;
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • red food coloring
  • lemon juice

Instructions

    Using a hand mixer, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together.

    Add egg yolk and vanilla extract. Keep beating.

    Add the flour, make the dough.

    Roll out the dough using a parchment paper on both sides. Put it in the fridge.

    When the dough is cold enough, place heart and circle shaped cookie cutters on the dough.

    Bake all the cookies at 180C/ 350F for 10-12 minutes until the cookies get golden on top.

    For the royal icing, using a mixer again, beat the egg white for 30 seconds and start adding sugar gradually until you reach the desired consistency. At last, add some drops of lemon juice.

    Mix the royal icing with red coloring, prepare the frosting. Decorate the cookies using royal icing.
