Parmesan Bacon Wrapped Ritz Crackers
Anything wrapped with bacon pretty much gets a thumbs up in my book. If you have been following my blog you've heard the stories of spending the Holidays with my husband's side of the family and how it's my mother -in law's tradition to always serve a spread of appetizers.
Her Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies have been a hit every year, they are usually gone within the first 10 minutes and anyone who arrives late, well…. they miss out! This year I am hoping to surprise her with this new recipe. Parmesan Bacon Wrapped Ritz Crackers. They are so good and with only 3 ingredients they are very easy to make.
Tips for Creating These Appetizers:
One tip I learned when making these is to lay your bacon down first with the cracker on the top so that it's easier to wrap and the cheese doesn't fall off. Also, you might find that when they are done there will be some oily spots on the pan from the bacon grease.
I automatically thought, oh no, my crackers are going to be so soggy. Much to my surprise they weren't. I quickly scooped them and put them on a paper towel to blot off the excess grease and they were so crispy!
I will be making these for Christmas, but they are perfect for any party and would be great served for Super Bowl. I am hoping to get a little more creative with bacon and I would love for you to share some different ways you use bacon as an appetizer.

If you want to jazz these up a notch, put a small dollop of your favorite dressing/dip on the cracker under the cheese. It helps hold the cheese in place and adds another layer of flavor. Ranch and southwest ranch and blue cheese are our 3 favorites. It really adds something. Word of warning though, if you add this step and are too generous with the dressing, it will make your cracker soft.
Great tip Phillip, thanks for sharing!
How do you store these if bringing them to a party? Do they have to be hot to eat?
Thanks !
Hi karen, they won’t taste as good if served cold. They don’t have to be hot but nice and warm. If you make them close to the time of the party you could probably store them in an insulated bag. I believe Pyrex and other companies that make glass cookware have them 🙂
