If you need a quick dinner idea, try these Quick and Easy Tostadas!
Quick and Easy Tostadas
Quick and Easy Tostadas are great year-round and there are so many ways you can make them. The options are endless! For example, you can make these with chicken, beef, shredded pork, or even vegetarian.
Even better, this meal idea is very frugal! You can find canned beans for well under $1, and they go a long way with Tostadas.
My family prefers them just with beans and veggies. For younger kids, this is an excellent way to get them to eat a few more veggies at dinner. The flavors mix together well. On that note, I would probably choose to serve these with taco meat (ground beef or turkey) for the kids.
These can be made traditionally with Refried Beans, or you can opt for Black Beans or Chili Beans. Check out this Homemade Refried Beans recipe if this is something you make often! They are so much better than canned!
I also have a great recipe for Instant Pot Black Beans, if you would rather use those!
Meal Options with Tostadas
Anyway, back to the recipe! At least once a week we have homemade tacos, but of course kids do get tired of the routine and then want something different. These Quick and Easy Tostadas are a fun change up from our typical menu.
This recipe is so easy the whole family can make their own. I find this to be one of my favorite meals to throw together when I don't have time to do much else. I use whatever I have on hand and they're always a hit!
Just add your beans to your tortilla and start stacking. I love Guacamole on these, but even some mashed avocado will work. As I said, this meal can be made with a few low cost ingredients and is actually great for a crowd.
Just keep the tortillas warm in your crock pot, and make a “taco bar” with other ingredients on the counter. Serve the cold ingredients in small bowls so each person can stack their own Tostada. This is a great way to use a tiered bowl set if you have one.
